As I recently divulged, Dan and I love to mark the occasion of each episode of Mad Men with a signature cocktail. Since we only have a few left in the season, we’re making each one count. Our most recent endeavor included a refreshing ingredient we’ve utilized before – cucumber.
We mixed some basil with the cucumber and muddled it in a pitcher (plastic because one time, Dan muddled just a little too hard and broke our glass pitcher (a wedding present) – oops!
Then, we added in some of cucumber vodka and simple syrup (about 3 to 1 vodka to simple syrup – though it really depends on your tastes) and some ice, and enjoy!
It was pretty delicious and refreshing. Very similar to the Clear Conscience that Dan made us for a special holiday…

This looks delicious, but I think if you had strained it through a fine-mesh strainer, it would have been a much more elegant presentation.
